Cool heads will be required on Sunday as the 2022 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship reaches its conclusion as Limerick take on Kilkenny.

With temperatures forecast to be in the mid-to-high twenties, the playing conditions for both sets of players will be much different than what they’ve been used to throughout the season.

There is even talk that the much-maligned water breaks could make a return this weekend.

How the teams manage the heat will be another factor in what promises to be an enthralling decider.

Limerick are bidding to lift the Liam MacCarthy Cup for the third successive season and their last defeat in the Championship was the 2019 semi-final loss to Brian Cody’s Kilkenny.

The Cats powered past Clare in the last four while Limerick defeated Galway by three points in their semi-final.
