Lightning-quick Man City legend swaps mazy runs for tipple with 'Chateau Kinkladze' wine
Did someone order a new trophy Cabernet? Manchester City legend Georgi Kinkladze has launched his own range of wine.
The lightning-quick winger lit up Maine Road in the 1990s, and hails from Georgia - one of the oldest wine-making regions in the world. And 'Kinky' as he is affectionately know to Blues fans, has a keen interest in a bottle or two, owning several vineyards in his homeland.
He previously sent City boss and wine-connoisseur Pep Guardiola a bottle of his vino to sample. And this week he has now unveiled his own range called '‘Chateau Kinkladze.'
This weekend, fans were given a chance to meet their hero to sample the brand's inaugural selections themselves, including the distinguished Tsinandali 2021, a dry white.

They also offer a dry 'Amber' called Qvevri and a dry red called Saperavi with bottles priced between £28 and £99. Kinkladze, who retired in 2006, is no stranger to the world of business, already owning a chain of leisure centres across Europe.
His new brand's launch commenced with Kinkladze attending an event hosted by the ‘Blues in Business’ group, where he met local entrepreneurs and fans, sharing insights from his football career and his new venture into the wine industry.
Now 51, Kinkladze then put on a special tasting event at Salut Wines, a renowned bar in Manchester city centre. The launch concluded with an official tasting event at the Etihad Stadium prior to Sunday's derby against United.
The former Georgia international was part of the match-day build-up. Speaking afterwards, he said: "I am delighted to make Manchester the first City to show my wine. I loved my time in Manchester and I have a lot to thank the City fans
