Liam Payne autopsy results revealed including cause of death and state of hotel room

Liam Payne's preliminary autopsy findings reveal he died from 'multiple traumas' that caused 'internal and external bleeding'.

The One Direction star, who shot to fame on the X Factor UK, tragically died after falling from the third floor of a hotel room yesterday evening in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hotel staff made a harrowing 911 call to emergency services where they expressed fears for his wellbeing moments before his death.

An autopsy has since been performed by the Forensic Medical Corps at the Judicial Morgue on Viamonte Street, with Infobae getting access to the preliminary results, the Mirror reports.

The preliminary result was consistent with a ten-metre fall he suffered from the balcony of his room, located on the third floor of the Casa Sur hotel.

The report stated a toxicological and anatomical-pathological study of his blood and urine were being undertaken to determine whether there were any traces of drugs.

An investigation is being led by Prosecutor No. 16, headed by Andrés Madrea, with testimonies being taken by Deputy Secretary María Florencia Lavaggi. A full autopsy results will be revealed in due course.

Personnel from the Mobile Criminalistics Unit of the City Police of Buenos Aires collected forensic evidence in the room at Casa Sur hotel. At the scene, police found a bottle of whiskey, a lighter, and a phone that could belong to Liam, which may be examined for messages. Fingerprints were found on all objects.
