Liam Delap update emerges as Ruben Amorim Manchester United 'transfer U-turn' revealed

Joshua Zirkzee is now reportedly due to stay at Manchester United during the summer transfer window while the club try to sell Rasmus Hojlund instead.

After the arrival of head coach Ruben Amorim last year, it appeared Zirkzee would be the forward to move on amid links with a loan to several Serie A sides during January. However, the Netherlands international seemingly has saved his United career over recent weeks and months.

Zirkzee has not scored in the Premier League since the start of December. However, he has scored four goals in all competitions this year, compared to Hojlund's sole strike against Leicester City.

GIVEMESPORT cites sources when claiming Amorim has re-evaluated the two players to the extent that the plan is to keep Zirkzee and cash in on Hojlund. One reputed differentiator is that the former continues to show improvement, while there are contrastingly few signs of the latter progressing.

MEN says: The opportunity provided to Hojlund by an untimely injury for Zirkzee appears make-or-break for the Dane's United career. Impressing in his absence could earn a stay of execution this summer, but failing to do so could see a move away materialise.

Fabrizio Romano claims United are leading the race to sign Liam Delap. In his GIVEMESPORT newsletter, the journalist said it is between the two Premier League clubs now, who are ahead of any clubs from the Bundesliga.
