Lewis Hamilton's post-race radio message summed up his disappointing Saudi Arabian GP
Whilst Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc were renewing their rivalry up at the front of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton was having a battle to try and earn a top 10 finish, with things just not going his way.
The Briton had a torrid qualifying session on Saturday with him posting the 16th fastest time but he did at least look to be showing a little more pace during the race, with him working his way up to sixth.
He had, though, not stopped for a tyre change up until that point and was just waiting for the perfect moment to do so to try and ensure he lost as few places as possible in the pitlane, before a virtual safety car and closed pit entry scuppered his plans.
Indeed, by the time he could pit he found himself tumbling back outside the top ten and, though he managed to fight back inside those positions, it was clear post-race he wasn’t particularly enamored with the result.
Finishing 10th, he earned a singular championship point and, as a driver who is used to normally coming first, it was clear he didn’t even know he’d got anything for his efforts with this blunt realisation over the radio after the chequered flag:
Bono: OK Lewis, that's P10. Sorry about that. Lewis: Is there even a point for that position?
