Lewis Hamilton outlines plans for Formula 1 stay
Lewis Hamilton has suggested that he has no plans on leaving Formula 1 any time soon, with him speaking at the Italian Grand Prix on Thursday.
The 7-time world champion has not had the season he would have liked in 2022, with the Mercedes W13 unfortunately not quite up to scratch compared to their cars of recent seasons.
Indeed, it has been hard to predict in terms of optimal set-up and has been erratic in terms of performance, with some tracks seeing it go well and others seeing it well off of the pace.

In fairness to the team from Brackley, they have never stopped working hard to try and improve the car and they seem more in the mix up at the front than they did at the start of this campaign, though that first win of the year is proving elusive as we head into the final few races.
Up next this weekend, then, is the Italian Grand Prix – a race that Hamilton famously crashed out of last season alongside then-title rival Max Verstappen as their duel for the crown ramped up in dramatic style.
2021, of course, went the way of the Red Bull man in the end, denying Hamilton an 8th world title, which would have been record-breaking, and the fall-out after the race posed questions over Lewis’ future in the sport.
Speaking ahead of the action beginning here at Monza, though, he suggested that he is more of the mind to keep in the sport for a little while longer yet, rather than hanging up those gloves:
“I mean, look, for years we’ve be going around, up and down with stories of retirement and stopping and for me I feel healthier than I’ve ever felt, as I focus a lot on that, I’m feeling fit, I love what I’m doing and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.”
