Lewis Hamilton has spent his rest day jumping out of aeroplanes & the footage is wild
You would think that Lewis Hamilton, one of the most accomplished F1 drivers in the history of sport, has had his fill of thrills.
The five-time world champion’s record stands at 73 wins, 83 poles and 134 podiums in 229 Grands Prix – quite incredible stats for one of Britain’s top sportsmen.
The great Michael Schumacher currently holds the record for most world titles, with a remarkable seven to his name, but 37-year-old Hamilton is in a great position to eclipse the German, and in doing so, leave no doubt as to who the best Formula 1 racer truly is.
Ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, it has been reported that Pirelli have made their tyre selection which could hand Hamilton’s rival Max Verstappen an early advantage. Pirelli decided teams will be given C2, C3 and C5 tyre compounds, which is an unusual decision for the Italian tyre manufacturers.
Verstappen, the reigning champion, picked up two wins on C5s at Monaco and the controversial Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Pirelli’s decision will have handed the Dutchman extra incentive to once again defeat his British counterpart.
With the pressure and scrutiny Hamilton is constantly tasked with facing, you’d be forgiven for assuming all his days off would largely consist of downtime and relaxation.
However, his Sunday in Dubai was quite the opposite.
In what was his latest side quest, Hamilton turned his hand to skydiving.
Surely fewer activities can match the exhilaration of Formula 1 racing? Whizzing around a track multiple times whilst trying to outdo your competition must provide a considerable adrenaline rush.
Hamilton, ever the thrill seeker, decided to get his fix another way on Sunday, claiming that skydiving was an “ideal way to spend a Sunday.”
