Lewis Hamilton: Formula 1 star makes ironic 'stressful' claim about driving on regular roads

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Lewis Hamilton confessed that he hardly ever drives on normal roads outside of Formula 1 as he considers it to be too stressful.

The seven-time world champion is known for making racing a car that can throw itself around bends and overtake the competition at breakneck speed look easy.

Of the current crop of talent that line up on the grid, the Brit is one of the most experienced and has a monumentally good record to reinforce how skilful he is behind the steering wheel.

So, it is ironic that this stunning revelation has come to light considering he said that he doesn’t fear the ‘high-speed twisting roads of Silverstone’, but he does find the roads us mere mortals drive on scary.

Hamilton mentioned that the situation of driving a normal car on a normal road puts him under too much pressure.

He said: “I just think I find it stressful. I try not to do things that don’t add to my life.”

The 37-year-old who was driving about the south of France during the Vanity Fair interview continued: “This is now stressful for me. This road is crazy. So much going on here.

“I’m going to turn around in a second. Look, we’re on these roads, anything can happen.

“People say: ‘Dude! You drive around at 200 miles an hour!’ And I’m like, in terms of fear factor, that’s easy for me. I guess we’re just all wired differently.’”

Even despite his worries about the roads, Hamilton is known for his big collection of supercars and various other motor vehicles.
