Lewis Hamilton ends British Grand Prix drought with Silverstone victory as he struggles to keep emotions in check

Lewis Hamilton was visibly moved after securing victory at the British Grand Prix, confessing that ending his three-year winless streak was a deeply emotional moment.

The Mercedes ace delivered a stunning performance at Silverstone, achieving a record-breaking win that brought him to tears as he acknowledged his prolonged absence from the top spot on the podium - his last triumph being at the 2021 Saudi Arabia GP. Despite the recent dominance of his adversary Max Verstappen, Hamilton was resolute in his ambition to claim victory at what would be his final British Grand Prix with Mercedes before his switch to Ferrari next season.

"Since 2021, every day I'm getting up and fighting to train to put my mind to the task and work as hard as I can with this amazing team," Hamilton shared with Sky Sports. "This is my last race here at the British Grand Prix with this team. I wanted to win this so much for them because I love them and appreciate them so much."
