Lewis Hamilton referred to Max Verstappen as a "bully" amid their tense and often bad-tempered rivalry last season.
The two racers were the protagonists in what turned out to be one of the most enthralling title races the sport has ever seen in 2021.
But as entertaining as it was, things also got heated at times and there were several crashes and flashpoints between them as both gave everything to beat their rival.
One of those crashes came at the British Grand Prix, when contact between them sent Verstappen careering off the track and into the tyre wall, while Hamilton went on to win the race.
That incident was the main focus of the third episode of Formula 1: Drive to Survive – the Netflix docu-drama which gives fans a fly-on-the-wall look at what happens in the paddock.
Series four was released on Friday, meaning fans got to learn more about what really happened behind the scenes between those two title-chasers.
Many would have been intrigued when Hamilton discussed what it was like to take on a driver like Verstappen, who is often reluctant to give an inch when it comes to intense, wheel-to-wheel combat.
