Leona Maguire paired with Anna Nordqvist in morning foursomes

Leona Maguire has been paired alongside Sweden's Anna Nordqvist in Friday's morning foursomes as the Solheim Cup commences in Finca Cortesin in Spain.

Europe, under captain Suzann Pettersen, are aiming for an unprecedented third successive victory, with Maguire, who famously racked up a maximum five points in Toledo in 2021, joining Nordqvist against an especially daunting looking American pair of Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz.

Corpuz is current US Women's Open champion, after triumphing by three strokes at Pebble Beach, while World No. 2 Korda won the 2021 Women's PGA Championship.

Linn Grant and Maja Stark are out first for Europe against Lexi Thompson and Megan Khang. France's Celine Boutier and England's Georgia Hall take on former PGA Champion Danielle Kang and Andrea Lee.

In the fourth game of the morning session, British Open runner-up Charley Hull and Emily Kristine Pedersen face US pair Ally Ewing and Cheyenne Knight.
