Leona Maguire just sneaks in to make cut at the LA Open

A successive round of 72 saw Leona Maguire just make the cut at the LA Open.

The Cavan native stands at two under with a birdie at 15 ultimately proving crucial in ensuring her participation in the final two rounds. She earlier had dropped shots on ten and 13.

Stephanie Meadow, after a disappointing opening round of 78, improved with a score of 71 to leave her seven-over par.

China's Ruoning Yin tied for the best round of the day and she shares the second-round lead with South Korea's Hyo Joo Kim at the Palos Verdes GC.

Yin shot a seven-under-par 64, leaving her at 10-under, level with Kim, who carded her second consecutive 66.

Defending champion Nasa Hataoka of Japan sits alone in third place at nine under after a 66. Canada's Maude-Aimee Leblanc produced her second straight 67, and she holds fourth place a futher shot back.

Lilia Vu (66) and Megan Khang (69) are tied for fifth at seven under, with Jennifer Kupcho (64) and Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit (67) are further shot back.
