Leinster's McGrath ruled out for up to eight weeks with knee injury

Leinster scrum-half Luke McGrath has been ruled out of action for up to eight weeks with a knee injury.

The Ireland back suffered the injury in the BKT URC opening round defeat to Glasgow Warriors eight days ago and the club have confirmed that McGrath will need up to two months to recover.

They said the 30-year-old will be unavailable for up to eight weeks with a "knee ligament injury".

Cormac Foley and Ben Murphy were the scrum-halves used in Saturday's win over the Sharks, while Jamison Gibson-Park is still on a break following his involvement in Ireland’s World Cup campaign.

Meanwhile, front rowers Michael Milne (shoulder) and John McKee (hamstring) have both been ruled out of contention for Saturday’s URC match-up with Edinburgh at the RDS (3.05pm).

There were no further updates on Cian Healy (shoulder), Ed Byrne (hamstring) and Alex Soroka (foot).
