Leigh Griffiths in Falkirk confession as former Celtic and Dundee striker wants to 'enjoy his football again'

Determined Leigh Griffiths is backing himself to provide Falkirk with a spark after joining the League One side until the end of the season.

The former Celtic striker was released by his parent club and Dundee opted not to extend his loan for the full season.

Griffiths has opted to link-up with Martin Rennie and former Scotland team-mate Kenny Miller, in a bid to rejuvenate a career that has been mired with controversy both on and off the pitch in recent years.

And the 31-year-old hopes to find his love for the beautiful game once again at his new club.

Speaking on the club's official website, he said: “I’m really happy to be here. Martin and Kenny made it clear that they thought I could help them with the club’s promotion push. For me it’s about getting back enjoying football again and helping the team push up the league.”

And boss Rennie admits he's delighted to tempt the Scotland international to the club.

He's backing his new forward to make a telling impact for a side who have one of their last four league matches.

He said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring Leigh to the club. He’s a very talented player who has scored goals throughout his career, and I think the timing has worked out really well for both the club and the player to come in and get playing games, and I’m sure scoring goals.”
