Leicester lower Youri Tielemans asking price and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Manchester United have reportedly been put on high alert after Leicester City reduced their asking price Youri Tielemans.

The Belgian midfielder has been linked with some of the Premier League’s big guns over the years, although he has so far remained at the King Power Stadium.

But with his contract set to expire next year, the Foxes are reportedly willing to lower their fee in order for them to cash in on the 24-year-old – and United could be one of the sides looking to take advantage.

The Reds are said to be keen on Tielemans, with midfield looking set to be a priority for them in the summer, although Arsenal, Real Madrid and Juventus are also said to be monitoring the situation.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, Tielemans is preparing to leave Leicester in the summer as he wants to join a club “with title ambitions”.

The Foxes are said to be willing to lower their asking price to £35million, having demanded £60million for the Belgian last year.

And with Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers under increasing pressure at the King Power, the Foxes could be set for a big summer overhaul.

Elsewhere, United are said to be in pole position to sign the much sought-after Blackburn youngster Ashley Phillips.

The 16-year-old has been tipped for a move to the Premier League after catching the eye of a number of clubs this season.

Phillips has made his way through the Blackburn academy, having previously been on the books with non-league side Curzon Ashton, and has starred for Rovers’ Under-18s side recently.
