Leicester City welcome son of Kolo Toure to first team training during international break

The son of Leicester City first team coach Kolo Touré has joined in training with the seniors this week.

Yassine, 16, is a right-footed attacking player who accepted a two-year scholarship with Leicester back in December. The youngster has been with the club for over two years, following his father to the club.

During each international break, Rodgers invites some younger players to step up to first team training in order to make up the numbers - though it is also a chance for them to impress.

Despite still being a member of the under-16s team, Touré joined first team training on Friday, LeicestershireLive understands. At the same time, the under-18s were in league action away at Norwich, winning 3-0 with a weakened, younger side.

There are high hopes, though, for Touré, who is eligible for both England and the Ivory Coast. He is popular among his teammates and highly regarded by coaches at the club.

There will be inevitable pressure on Yassine to live up to the heights reached by his father, as well as his uncle Yaya. Both men will keep him grounded, however, and if he needs advice on how to cope with the pressure of having a famous father, he need only look to clubmate Kasper Schmeichel.
