Leicester City transfer news: Youri Tielemans destination becomes clearer as Real Madrid pull plug

Arsenal are reported to be in the box seat to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans after Real Madrid turned their attention elsewhere.

Tielemans is in hot demand this summer as a host of clubs chase his signature. The 25-year-old has just one year remaining on his current deal and there is no sign of him penning a new one. With that in mind the Foxes are ready to sell and recoup some cash while they can.

The Gunners are known to be big admirers. Mikel Arteta has a new midfielder high on his wanted list and Tielemans is a target. But the competition is fierce.

Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United could all offer him the chance to stay in the Premier League. Real Madrid have also been linked and it was claimed that Los Blancos would be the preferred destination for Tielemans.

However it looks like he could be disappointed. Reports in the French publication L’Equipe claim that Real are close to signing Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco. After missing out on Kylian Mbappe they quickly turned their attention to another top target.

The player in question is Tchouameni with a deal said to be close. If that is the case then L’Equipe say there will be no need to sign Tielemans. In turn that opens the door for other clubs to swoop.
