Leicester City star labelled 'very valuable' after Crystal Palace performance

Leicester City loanee Ademola Lookman has stressed that teammate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is "very valuable to the squad" after putting in a fine performance against Crystal Palace.

The Nigeria international was assisted by the 23-year-old for the opening goal of the game at the King Power Stadium after latching onto an inch-perfect through ball. Provider then turned goalscorer on the stroke of half-time after turning on the edge of the area before picking out the top left corner of Vicente Guaita's goal.

That emphatic finish was Dewsbury-Hall's first in the Premier League and marked a 20th appearance in the competition so far this season. The midfielder has also scored in the Europa League and Europa Conference League.

In the aftermath of a third straight home league win, Lookman was at pains to point out the impact Dewsbury-Hall had in the match and since breaking into the senior team overall. “I knew he was going to pass the ball inside,” the loanee told LCFC TV in explaining the build-up to the opening goal. “So, I just made a run and took it well.

"I think the one where Patson [Daka] passed it to me, and I could score there and make it 3-0 and then obviously we see the game out. It’s just those fine details.

“Dewsbury-Hall is an amazing player. His energy, his tenacity is what we need and he’s very valuable to the squad, to us, and also not just as a player, but as a person as well. He’s a cool guy and I get along with him very well.”

Pundits have been similarly glowing in their praise of the player following Sunday's showing. Alan Shearer has said that players "just can’t stop" the midfielder with those quick feet, and Foxes legend Gary Lineker described Dewsbury-Hall's goal as a "beauty".
