Leicester City sent blunt transfer warning as Brendan Rodgers 'walk’ claim made

Former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster has said that he wouldn’t be surprised if Brendan Rodgers walked away from Leicester City should they not invest in the squad during the final week of the transfer window.

City have had a disappointing start to the season, having failed to pick up a win in their first three league games of the campaign. They did however scrape past League Two side Stockport County on penalties on Tuesday night to make it through to the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The results have come with speculation over some players’ futures at the club, with Wesley Fofana currently training with the U23s after having his head turned by transfer interest from Chelsea. Speaking on TalkSPORT, former Premier League striker Darren Bent has said that he’s not too worried about City’s current form, even if there is sales in the final days of the window.

"As I said before, I don’t think you need to hit panic yet, you’re right, they’ve not got off to the best of starts, Brentford draw, losing to Arsenal, losing to Southampton. How they lost that Southampton game I don’t know,” he said.

“You look at their squad and you’re right, they have got some of their better players that have been linked away, the likes of Fofana, Youri Tielemans. But I think even if they let them two players go, I think they have more than enough. I know they’ve not got going yet, but they still have some very good players down there.

“James Justin I’m a big fan of, Jamie Vardy, Patson Daka, Iheanacho, James Maddison if they can hold onto him. They’ve got a good enough squad, but for whatever reason they just haven’t got going yet, but I fully expect, as they always do, Jamie Vardy will start scoring and they’ll start picking up points.
