Leicester City linked striker sent Premier League transfer message
Leicester City are among the clubs credited with an interest in Belgian hotshot Charles de Ketelaere.
Reports in Belgium in January claimed the Foxes have been following the 21-year-old for some time, with his team, Club Brugge, said to be holding out for 27million euros (about £22.5million).
Now, Dutch analyst and columnist Jan Mulder says it is time for de Ketelaere to seek a move to the Premier League this summer after scoring 17 goals in 41 games in the Belgian top flight this season.
“Charles will, of course, continue his career abroad. I am curious which choice he will make,” Mulder told Sport/Voetbal Magazine (via Sport Witness). “Spain and Italy are not that interesting anymore; England has the most money. But above all: you can develop the best there.
“Robin van Persie went from Feyenoord to Arsenal at the time, and six months later, he had become twice as good. Because of the high tempo, because of the intensity that makes you physically stronger as well. Charles could also handle the level of the Bundesliga, but in the Premier League, he will make even more steps.”
