Leicester City handed triple injury boost ahead of Manchester United clash

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed injured trio James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Boubakary Soumare will be fit for this weekend's game against Manchester United.

The Foxes travel to Old Trafford on Sunday off the back of three consecutive wins in all competitions, having scored four goals against both Aston Villa and Tottenham since the start of February to lift them away from relegation danger. The most recent win against Antonio Conte's side came without either Tielemans or Soumare, the former left out of the squad after picking up a minor calf problem in training while the latter was nursing a long-term hamstring issue.

And Leicester fans suffered another scare when the Daily Mail reported Maddison, who had just captained his side in the win over Spurs, had been sent for a scan prior to the match as he continues to manage an issue that kept him out for England's World Cup campaign. But Rodgers has delivered a positive update.

"James Maddison is fine, trained well," Rodgers said before Sunday's clash. "Tielemans and Soumare have trained so they are available for the game. [Jonny] Evans is still a bit of time away, he is still suffering a wee bit with his thigh. Everything is clearing up now which is pleasing, so the squad is looking strong."

In United, Leicester face a side enjoying a sustained period of form, having won 14 of their last 18 games across all competitions. Erik ten Hag is enjoying the fruits of his summer labour with the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro adding experience and quality.
