Leicester board have now 'told Brendan Rodgers' what's needed at King Power

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has been told by the board that he needs to improve his side’s form significantly over the next three games, although Monday’s clash with Nottingham Forest is not a must-win, according to reporter Ben Jacobs.

The Foxes sit rock-bottom of the Premier League after playing seven matches and their boss could be running out of time to save his job.

After Leicester were thrashed 6-2 by Tottenham before the international break, Rodgers admitted that he was feeling the pressure.

According to The Athletic, the former Liverpool boss is now on ‘extremely thin ice’ in the East Midlands with ‘a lot’ riding on Monday’s clash with Forest.

Steve Cooper has also endured a tough start to the season and his Forest side are sat just one place above the Foxes.

Unlike Leicester, however, last year’s Championship play-off winners have at least recorded a win going into Monday’s meeting.

If Rodgers were to be sacked, he would reportedly be entitled to a compensation package of around £10 million.

Jacobs understands that Leicester’s next three Premier League games will be decisive for Rodgers at the King Power.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “With the Forest game, in particular, I don’t believe it is must-win, but I think that the next three games are essential. My understanding is that Rodgers has been told that it’s Forest, Bournemouth, and Palace, and the expectation is that Leicester take, I would say, at least six points from those three games.

“Fans may argue that seven points on paper is essential, but I think the board wants to see a run. They want to see those three games catalyse something. If Rodgers can’t get to the end of Palace on October the 15 with those points in the bag, then I think he’s in big,
