Leicester '100% used international break' to 'look at Rodgers replacements'
Leicester City will have ‘100%’ used the international break to look at possible replacements for Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.
The Foxes have endured a torrid start to the season and sit rock-bottom of the Premier League without a win to their name.
It is understood that the former Liverpool boss is skating on ‘extremely thin ice’ in the East Midlands with a lot now riding on Monday night’s meeting with Nottingham Forest.
The 49-year-old admitted himself that he was feeling the pressure after his side were thrashed 6-2 by Antonio Conte’s Tottenham.
However, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has previously told GIVEMESPORT that, due to financial issues, Leicester cannot afford to sack Rodgers.
If they were to dismiss their manager, the Foxes would reportedly have to splash out £10 million which, after a revenue loss of close to £120 million, becomes hard to justify.
Jacobs understands that Leicester will have used the international break to hold lengthy talks with Rodgers but also sound out his potential successor.
The CBS reporter told GIVEMESPORT: “I don’t think it’s win or bust against Nottingham Forest but it is a derby, obviously, so the manner of either a win or a loss is going to be important as well.
“Leicester will have 100%, as I understand it, used the international break to, not only hold lengthy meetings with Rodgers, but also look at other options.
“Rodgers is well aware, he’s been in football for long enough, that this is normal that if he is to go, Leicester would have already started that process of seeing who’s out there, and who is interested.”
