Leeds Utd worst fears coming true as Man Utd, Raphinha plan emerges; Tottenham circle over second deal
Leeds United could lose five stars if relegated, and a report has shed light on a potential Man Utd move for Raphinha with Tottenham hovering over a different forward.
The Whites are the current favourites to suffer relegation when all is said and done on Sunday. Burnley’s hard-fought point against Aston Villa on Thursday pulled them on level terms with Leeds. However, their vastly superior goal difference has given them a massive advantage.
Indeed, Leeds must now better Burnley’s result on final day if they’re to survive. Should the Clarets win, there is nothing Leeds can do.
Now, a report from the Telegraph shed light on just how disastrous relegation might be for the Whites.
The newspaper state rival clubs are keeping a close watch on Leeds’ plight. Should they fall through the trap door, no fewer than five major names could be poached.
Illan Meslier, Kalvin Phillips, Jack Harrison, Raphinha and Patrick Bamford would all be at risk per the report. It’s stated all five will attract bids Leeds may struggle to rebuff.
Regarding Raphinha, the Telegraph indicate Leeds’ worst nightmare could come true – a move to Manchester United.
Speculation has swirled as to the presence of cut-price release clauses in several Leeds contracts if they go down. While the article does not confirm Raphinha is one of those affected, it’s been widely reported elsewhere he can leave for just £25m in that scenario.
