Leeds United transfer rumours as Tyler Adams move edges closer

Here is a round-up of the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Tuesday, July 5.

With the sale of Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City completed on Monday, Leeds United are moving quickly to replace their midfield star. According to journalist and transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, the Whites have done so with a deal for RB Leipzig's Tyler Adams.

"Leeds are set to sign Tyler Adams from RB Leipzig, done deal and here we go! Deal completed for £20m fee [add ons included]. It’s 100% agreed, Jesse Marsch wanted him."

Leeds Live understands talks are at an advanced stage but nothing has been finalised yet.

Leeds' other major expected outgoing is Raphinha. Barcelona have been expected to sign the Brazilian for some time, but the Spanish giants have failed to make a bid anywhere close to what Leeds are looking for.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have already had a bid accepted by Leeds, whilst Arsenal have also bid as well. However, Raphinha seems reluctant to move to either of the London teams and journalist, Tim Vickery, has suggested that the player's agent has advised him against the move.

"Remember who his agent is, Deco. Now, Deco didn’t enjoy his time in London, either the football or off-the-field. He told the Brazilian media at the time that he thought London was a city to visit and not a city to live in. So, Raphinha has also got Deco in his ear saying ‘Deco loved Barcelona and didn’t like London so much’."

As well as Phillips departing the club on Monday, Leeds' other piece of business was to bring in Darko Gyabi from Manchester City.
