Leeds United star tipped to change agents amid Aston Villa transfer interest

Long-term Aston Villa transfer target Kalvin Phillips is reportedly considering changing the agency which represents him amid links to Steven Gerrard's side, West Ham United and Manchester United.

Phillips, 26, has been linked with a sensational £60million move to Villa in recent weeks as Gerrard looks to bolster the defensive capabilities within his midfield. The Leeds United midfielder has long been a target for Villa, after the club failed in an attempt to sign him upon promotion to the Premier League in 2019. According to The Athletic, Villa revisited a deal for England's 2021 Player of the Year in January with "via conversations at executive level" as Gerrard pursued reinforcements in the midfield which also led to a £25million bid being rejected for Brighton's Yves Bissouma.

Links to Villa and Manchester United are now beginning to intensify ahead of a huge transfer window for Phillips, who could look to leave Leeds United given the fact contract negotiations between the two parties are yet to progress, after initial talks at the end of last year were received well by the player. The Athletic are now also reporting that the player could be set to change the agency which represents him, although sources have stated the switch "should not be seen as a prelude to a move away from Leeds".

Phillips is currently in the final year of his contract with Palm Sports Management and could look to make the switch to join Stellar Group, who were key in negotiating Jack Grealish's £100 million transfer from Aston Villa to Manchester City last summer.
