Leeds United rumours as Whites eye Benfica striker & former midfield target set for Monaco

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Saturday, 13 August 2022.

Leeds United are reportedly one of a host of Premier League sides keeping tabs on Benfica attacker Goncalo Ramos. That is according to 90min.com, who claim that both Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have held talks over his signing, while Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham are all also monitoring his situation.

Leeds remain in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer and Ramos fits the bill of the profile the club are looking at in terms of age. Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain are too said to be interested in signing Ramos this summer.

Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Mohamed Camara is on the verge of sealing a move to Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco. That is according to L’Equipe, who claim that an agreement between the two clubs is close as Monaco close in on a replacement for Aurélien Tchouaméni, who moved to Real Madrid earlier in the window.

Camara was reportedly one of the midfield options Leeds United were considering as a Kalvin Phillips replacement earlier in the window. The Whites instead opted to sign Tyler Adams, who joined from Red Bull Leipzig in July.

Leeds United are reportedly weighing up a move for left-back Kai Wagner. According to the Daily Mail, the Philadelphia Union defender is wanted as competition and cover for Junior Firpo.

The Whites have been linked with a number of left-backs this summer. Leif Davis left the club to join Ipswich, Firpo is currently injured and Pascal Struijk started at left-back in the opening day win against Wolves. There is a lack of depth in that position, particularly as Firpo only played 24 league games last season, missing periods of the campaign through injury.
