Leeds United rumours as Rangers make loan bid for reported Whites target and Everton join Adams race

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Sunday, 3 July 2022.

Rangers are set to make a loan bid for Leeds United-linked Manchester City starlet James McAtee. That is according to the Scottish Sun, who claim that Huddersfield Town are currently leading the race, but Leeds, Brighton, Swansea City and now Rangers are all interested.

The 19-year-old is one of City’s highly rated young talents after he netted 18 goals in 23 appearances from midfield in their PL2 title winning campaign last season. Leeds are already close to signing one City youngster this summer, with Darko Gyabi set to seal his switch on Monday, according to reports.

Everton have joined Leeds United in the race to sign Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams. That is according to BILD, who claim that the Toffees and Leeds are keen on a deal that could cost between €15 and €20 million.

Jesse Marsch’s side are in the market for a new holding midfielder this summer, with Kalvin Phillips’ move to Manchester City expected to be confirmed on Monday. Adams is among the players on Leeds’ list of potential replacements and according to other reports, could be available on loan.

Chelsea have reportedly identified Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet as a potential to Leeds United winger Raphinha. That is according to talkSPORT, who claim that Cornet has emerged as a target after he netted nine goals for Burnley last season despite their relegation.

Chelsea agreed a fee in the region of £60 million for Raphinha earlier this week, though a deal has not yet been finalised. This is because the Brazilian is continuing to hold out for a move to Barcelona, who are still trying to come to an agreement with Leeds.
