Leeds United flop slammed for Spurs shocker: Bielsa thought he was "too soft" behind-the-scenes
Leeds United’s week was topped off with another humiliating defeat. This time Spurs followed in the footsteps of Manchester United and Liverpool to pile pressure on Marcelo Bielsa – the pressure being told with him losing his job on Sunday morning.
The Whites slumped to a 4-0 defeat, making it 14-2 in their three games this week, with things turning from bad to worse. Manchester United were 4-2 winners before Liverpool hit them for six at Anfield.
Matt Doherty, Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane made sure it was the worst possible start for Leeds who were 3-0 down in 27 minutes.
Heung-Min Son got involved five minutes from time to complete the scoring. Beren Cross’ match ratings, as you can imagine, didn’t read well. Robin Koch was slammed, receiving a 4/10: “No protection for the defence or any presence in the middle of the park as Adam Forshaw was left isolated and alone.”
Koch of course was reported to be questioned by Bielsa behind-the-scenes for being “too soft” for the Premier League and that he wasn’t cut out for the intensity and physicality of English football.
The result leaves them worryingly close to the drop zone, with games in hand meaning there is a real chance the Whites will drop back into the bottom three.
Such has been the dip in form, reports instantly after the game emerged, questioning the future of Bielsa, suggesting that he had taken charge of his last game as Leeds United manager. Reports that ultimately, came true.
