Leeds: Marsch wants £28m star 'through the door quickly' at Elland Road

Incoming Leeds man Brenden Aaronson is “very significant” to Jesse Marsch’s plans at Elland Road, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Yorkshire giants have been chasing the Salzburg ace since January and are on the verge of making him their first summer signing.

Having missed out on signing the American in the winter, with the Austrian outfit not willing to sell the midfielder before the Champions League knockout stages got underway, Leeds’ hopes of signing him this summer were always likely to hinge on whether they stayed in the Premier League.

Leeds saw bids of £15m and £20m rejected in January and are now expected to pay Salzburg in the region of £28m.

Aaronson’s switch to the Premier League will also see him reunite with Marsch after the pair spent last season together in Austria.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Ultimately, if they can get Brenden Aaronson through the door quickly, that’s a player who’s very, very significant to where Jesse Marsch wants to take this team.”
