Leeds: Elland Road could see 'early' transfer deals this summer

Leeds United will try to do their business early this summer, claims transfer insider Pete O’Rourke.

It will be their first window under new manager Jesse Marsch, and O’Rourke believes the American and director of football Victor Orta will try to move quickly.

While it did take until deadline day for Leeds to sign Dan James after striking a £25m deal with Manchester United, the Yorkshire club were quite proactive in the previous summer market overall.

They signed full-back Junior Firpo from Barcelona in July, while Jack Harrison arrived on a permanent deal the same month.

Harrison finally departed Manchester City for good after spending the previous three seasons out on loan at Leeds, with the 25-year-old managing to score eight goals and provide eight assists in the Premier League last term.

The Whites were also able to bring in goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson before the start of the campaign to provide cover for No.1 Illan Meslier.

O’Rourke is expecting Leeds to take a quick approach again and has no fears about Marsch and Orta disagreeing over targets.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the football journalist said: “I don’t see any issues between both of those people in positions at Leeds [Marsch and Orta], so I’d expect Leeds to be working early in this transfer market to try and get their targets in as quickly as possible.”

Looking at their rumoured targets, it should not be too hard. Having tried to sign Brenden Aaronson in January, Leeds have probably done most of the groundwork when it comes to the Red Bull Salzburg attacker.
