Tottenham have become the latest club with interest in Leeds United man Kalvin Phillips, with the Whites’ risk of losing the star constantly intensifying.

Leeds will be used to clubs being linked with their most crucial assets by now. Phillips has been a target for most of the Premier League’s biggest sides of late.

Indeed, the midfielder plays a big role in the Leeds team. He was a mainstay in the side last season, contributing to three goals in 29 games as Leeds finished ninth.

It is clear that the Whites have struggled without him this season. Phillips missed 15 league games due to a hamstring injury, and his absence, among other factors, meant Leeds dragged into a relegation battle.

The 26-year-old returned to the squad in the 3-2 win against Wolves in March. His impact, just from the warming up on the touchline, gave the stadium an injection of energy from the Leeds fans. And the Whites are now close to safety for another season, too.

His impact on the international stage has also gained Phillips prestige. The midfielder was integral to England’s EURO 2020 campaign, and he has played 19 times for the Three Lions.

Of course, Jesse Marsch’s side will not be too enamoured with the prospect of seeing Phillips move on. However, Manchester United, Aston Villa, West Ham and Liverpool are all among the sides to have been linked with the star.

Another side can now be added to that list, too.
