Lee Sharpe criticises Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson for 'blanking him'

Lee Sharpe has criticised Sir Alex Ferguson after the Manchester United legend 'blanked him' following the release of the former's autobiography in 2005.

In the book entitled 'My Idea of Fun', Sharpe claimed that Ferguson was a 'bully' during his time at Old Trafford. The 51-year-old made 197 appearances for the Reds scoring 26 goals and grabbing 28 assists.

Sharpe enjoyed a decorated career at Old Trafford winning three Premier Leagues, three FA Cups and a League Cup during his eight-year spell following his arrival from Torquay United. Despite this success coming under Ferguson, the former left-sided midfielder has not held back when critiquing him.

Sharpe revealed that the last time he saw Ferguson, tensions had cooled between the two but there was still no love lost following the book's release.

"I saw him a couple of years ago at the Man United golf day and he didn’t want to look at me but sort of said hello as he was walking past," he added. "But the time before that he completely blanked me.

"After I’d left United, he sort of said to me: ‘Listen, you’ve never been any trouble at this club, thanks for your services, if ever you need
