Lee Johnson responds to Hibs fan fury as deflated boss concedes his flops 'failed miserably' against St Mirren

Lee Johnson has pledged to fix Hibs early season woes after defeat to St Mirren made it four games without a win for the Easter Road side/

Johnson's side have struggled since the opening day of the season when the club picked up three points against St Johnstone, but now it’s four without victory. Having managed a draw against Rangers on the previous match day, the Leith side appeared to have turned a corner this term. However, Keanu Baccus early goal for the Buddies saw the Hibees slump to another defeat this term.

Visiting fans fumed with the Easter Road boss and his underperforming players at the full-time whistle. Johnson accepted the stick and says everyone in the group has to own to the dismal display. He stressed: “I know what’s got to be done. There’s no question in my mind what we need to do, how we need to do it.

“It will turn because we're good at what we do and we'll improve by nurturing and developing. After last week’s comeback and a good week in training, this was an opportunity for three points. We failed on it miserably.

“We conceded a goal that’s a soft touch. And there’s no hiding it, we just did not have the quality entering the final third. Most of our attacks ended up fizzling out.

“It does seem that there’s a little bit of a pattern repeating with this side, this club. I’m massively disappointed. We’ve got to look deep into what we can do to turn it quickly, be organised and upgrade the quality.

“We’ve let ourselves down, the fans down – and I apologise for that. Rightly we’re going to get stick. We deserve to own that, myself more than anybody because I pick the team and put them out.

“For whatever reason, not enough produced their best. We didn’t have enough good decision makers out there.”
