Lee Clark: Impressive home form, incredible journey for Howe and tough task for my old club Norwich

To win six home games in a row is nothing to be sniffed at for Newcastle United and Eddie Howe.

The last three home games in particular have followed a similar pattern, defensively the Magpies have been strong against three tough opponents in Wolves, Leicester and now Crystal Palace. All of these games were against teams that have done very well in league and cup competitions but Newcastle made them look very ordinary.

Against all of these teams they stopped the threats of all players. They certainly prevented Palace being any threat in the wide areas.

One thing I would say is that this team is working unbelievably hard as a group and look like they have a great togetherness. They have great spirit and if Eddie can transfer that home form into the away games they have left, they could get into that top 10 which would be a phenomenal finish to the season really.

If you go back to the Norwich game in December when it ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw and left United rock bottom of the table it shows how far they have journeyed in a short space of time. Honestly, it has been brilliant and I like the fighting spirit.

They have shown they can win games in a different manner. If they have to stay in a game they can and if they have to fight back they do that as well. Plus you have players like Bruno and Allan Saint-Maximin who can provide the excitement going forward. It really is an exciting time for fans.
