Leclerc’s uncensored audio and helmet cam footage shows how big a disaster his Monaco pit was

The Monaco Grand Prix proved to be a more lively affair than usual as heavy rain pelted down onto the iconic Formula 1 track.

After a sudden and massive downpour in the minutes prior, the start was delayed with the track deemed to be in no condition for a race.

Valterri Bottas certainly made the most of the extra time before lights out, sending out a brilliant tweet before the race eventually got underway behind the safety car.

It was a stop-start afternoon all along, with Mick Schumacher’s crash and issues with track electronics causing further stoppages on an afternoon that could’ve been very exciting.

Ultimately, it would be Sergio Perez who would come out on top on a historic day for Mexican driver.

Further down the grid, however, there was mass-disappointment for home-town hero Charles Leclerc, who was forced to settle for fourth place after starting the afternoon on pole in his Ferrari.

It was just another episode in a long series of Monaco heartbreaks for Leclerc but, at least on this occasion who can honestly say it wasn’t his fault.

A pitstop disaster-class put an end to any hope Leclerc had of finally ending his principality hoodoo as he was forced to wait in a queue behind teammate Carlos Sainz in the pits.

Having been called in to box by his race engineer, Leclerc had to park in behind Sainz, losing what would prove to be crucial time in the race for first.

Unsurprisingly, he was an incredibly unhappy man, completely losing his rag over the team radio.

Now, uncensored audio and helmet cam footage has emerged, showing just how big a mess Ferrari made of the attempted double pit.
