‘Leaked’ 2023/24 Manchester United home kit contains historic symbol

‘Leaked’ images of Manchester United’s supposed 2023/24 home kit contain a repeated outline pattern of the Lancashire Rose emblem.

In 2014, Adidas agreed a £750m deal to be the club’s kit manufacturers for 10 years between 2015 and 2025, and so they will design next campaign’s strip. United are seeking a new front-of-shirt sponsor with TeamViewer ending its five-year sponsorship early having only closed the deal in March 2021. Their logo will remain on the top until a new sponsor is found.

On Friday, website Footy Headlines - which has a good track record of revealing future kit designs - shared images predicting how United’s home top for next season, based on information they've received about it. The main feature on these designs see the Lancashire Rose spread in a repeated pattern.

The symbol represents the county of Lancashire, with roses of various forms being depicted on many sports crests in the area, such as Lancashire County Cricket Club and Blackburn Rovers FC.

The synonymous three Adidas stripes are coloured black for the first time in four seasons with the main colour of the United shirt being ‘Team Collage Red’. A black pinstripe around the circumference of the sleeves is also shown with a black interior.

The website also claims that there are references to a bridge, probably - it says - Trafford Road Bridge, for the collar. The big collars of this season are replaced by a non-touching V-neck style.

It moots that the home shirt will be advertised and on sale from July. There is no mention of next season’s away or third kits nor of any goalkeeper strips.
