Leah Williamson & Jill Scott joke they’re living the 'high life' after Euro 2022

As England and Germany played out a pulsating game at Wembley, Leah Williamson and Jill Scott were enjoying themselves more than most.

Both players were part of the Lionesses team that won Euro 2022 earlier this year, which has catapulted them to legendary status.

The England heroes were invited to attend England men’s Nations League fixture against Germany and sported their winners’ medals as they watched on.

It appeared the two were loving life in their Wembley box and in an interview with Channel Four, they joked about how they were taking advantage of the free food and drink on offer.

Asked if they were ‘living the high life’ after finally bringing football home in the summer, Williamson said: “It’s the high life but we’re basically just begging for tickets!

“Jill wears that [her medal] out and about so that she can get free coffees so she does what she can to live that high life, we’re just jumping on the bandwagon!”

Addressing their experience in a Wembley box for the first time, Scott added: “I never, ever got [to be] in these boxes before so it’s incredible to be up here.”

Both players also spoke about how nice it was to enjoy a game of football at Wembley without feeling the pressure of playing.

“Coming out here, it’s quite nice to be on this side with no pressure to be honest, but yeah it’s pretty mental to consider what we’ve done and what’s happened,” Williamson stressed.

Scott added: “Yeah there was a lot of dancing out on that pitch and celebrating. I think I stayed out there for about an hour and a half after the game because I just wanted to enjoy every minute of it.”
