League One clubs and Portuguese outfit chase deal for Liverpool starlet

Liverpool left-back Owen Beck is a target for Portuguese top-flight club Famalicao, as per a Patreon from journalist Alan Nixon.

The 18-year-old, who is highly rated by senior figures at the Premier League outfit, is also being monitored by several League One clubs, who have not been named.

The report suggests that the Portuguese outfit is seen as the more favourable destination at this point, with Famalicao looking to trouble the European spots when the 2022/23 campaign comes around.

Appearing 20 times in Premier League 2 last season, the exciting full-back scored once and grabbed a further assist, playing another six games in the UEFA Youth League.

Beck featured on the bench at first-team level three times last season, whilst he was also an unused substitute in the FA Cup against Nottingham Forest.

The left-back did see minutes within the senior set up at Liverpool last year, accumulating 11 minutes of action in the EFL Cup across two matches.

The verdict

An exciting prospect who is seemingly progressing at a fast rate, it would appear that he would be an excellent addition at League One level.

It remains to be seen if any further interest surfaces for the young defender, with several Championship outfits looking to bolster their left-sided options ahead of the new campaign.

Should a move to Portugal come to fruition, and should he feature regularly, then it would be a brilliant move for Beck, especially with Famalicao striving to reach Europe.

Progressing through the academy ranks, this seems like an appropriate stage for Beck to continue his education temporarily away from Anfield.
