Layla has spent nearly 600 days in a rescue centre - she longs for a forever home
A Doberman who 'just wants to be your friend' is longing to find her forever home after spending nearly 600 days in a RSPCA rescue centre.
'Beautiful' Layla hasn't been able to be rehomed up until now due to the charity having to await the outcome of a court case, Cheshire Live reports. But now she is ready to leave the rescue centre in Warrington and find a new family.
Six-year-old Layla first arrived at the centre in March 2022. Staff said she is 'absolutely stunning' and 'willing to learn' after being nurtured by specialists there who are used to rehabilitating animals who have suffered cruelty and neglect.

The RSPCA said Layla was extremely anxious when she first came to the centre and was put on medication to help. Her new family would need to wean her off this.
She is looking for a home with adults only and no other pets, with the new owners having previous experience with Dobermans or other large working breeds. Prior to going to the RSPCA, Layla had not been trained, had only met a small number of people and was scared of other dogs.
She now walks on a Halti training lead, checking in every few steps, allowing her to 'take in the scenery and not pull like a steam train'. She is described as 'extremely food motivated' with a love of 'scrumptious biscuits'.
RSPCA staff said she can still be a little unsure of dogs or other animals and will bark to scare them away, although this has 'improved massively' over time. Due to her initial nerves, it is recommended that her new owner carry a muzzle
