Law and District AAC stars claim prizes and PBs in top events

Law and District athletes have produced impressive displays and new personal bests in various disciplines recently, competing in top events across the country.

The club had several junior and senior athletes competing in the Paisley 10km and fun run, with senior women Maddy Watson, Jess Robson, Elaine Boyle and Lesley Graham winning second prize in the team event.

Elaine Boyle also finished third V40 with a new PB of 41:51mins.

The senior men nearly all achieved personal bests, with Kieran Pugh in 34:28, Allan Neil 36:01, Bobby Hill 43:12, Mark Milligan 46:26, John O’Leary 47:42 and Grant Kerr 55:02.

Sisters Abbie and Eilidh Boyle finished second and eighth in the fun run, with Abbie just missing out on first place after a sprint finish.

Meanwhile, senior athlete Lesley Graham was on top form when she then took part in the Loch Ness 24-hour Race with Jen Beattie, Rich Beattie and Stevie Campbell, who all finished first mixed team.

The Law team completed an amazing 39x7km laps of forest trail, over roots and thick mud, pebble beaches and wet grassy fields.

The weather was of typical bank holiday variety varying between Biblical, heavy and light rain.

Congratulations were in order for senior athletes Liam Nolan and Steven Stone who competed at the Tartan Games in Gateshead, with Liam jumping 5.19m in the long jump and throwing 8.42m in shot put, while Steven ran a PB in the 400m with a time of 52.97s.

Both were the top Para athletes in their events, which was a fantastic achievement.
