Law and District AAC enjoy track and field medal success

Law and District Amateur Athletics Club won several medals at various competitions in recent weeks.

Under-17 athlete Johann Gillon son silver at the rescheduled Scottish Schools’ Hammer Championships at Grangemouth, with a season’s best throw of 44.71m.

At under-15 level, Roisin McClelland finished fifth with a throw of 23.38m, just short of her personal best.

Senior athlete Emily McNicol competed in the Wimbledon 5000m Festival, and set a new club record with 17.25:17mins.

Law and District enjoyed huge success at the Scottish National Championships at Grangemouth, the main track and field event for U13, 15 and 20 athletes.

Alexander Wotherspoon is U13 1500m champion.

Cameron Chambers is U15 800m champion.

Skye Davidson is U20 national champion in javelin.

Silver went to Ryan Kellock in 200m steeplechase, Ross Ferguson in shot put and Tehillah Ikechuckwu-Okonkwo in 200m, all at under-20 level.

Bronze medals were won by Emily Taylor in U13 1500m and Tehillah Ikechukwu-Okonkwo in U20 100m.

Allyssa Bennet competed in 100m and 200m, and Chloe Gardiner reached semi-finals in both those disciplines.

Duke McBain also competed in 100m and 200m.

Carys Kennedy reached the 100m semi-final and competed in 70m hurdles.

Harrison Hamilton was seventh in the 100m final and competed in 200m.

Alfie Brown was fourth in 100m final, seventh in the 200m final, and fourth in shot put.

Olivia Davidson, Rosie Jardine and Stefan Cowan competed in 100m.

Cara Murphy took part in 100m and 200m, as did Luke Evans.

Grace Frood, Helena Wotherspoon, Abbie Boyle and Lucy Taylor competed in 1500m.

Jessica Inglis was sixth in the 800m final.

Tiana Greenshields was eighth in both the 100m and 200m finals.
