Law and District AAC athletes are amongst the prizes again

Law and District athletes Liam Nolan and Steven Stone medalled at the Scottish Senior Disability Sport Championships, two of several recent good results for the club.

Stone won gold in 400m with a time of 53.05s and Nolan won gold in hammer with a new Games Record of 34.8m.

Nolan also won gold in discus and bronze in the long jump.

Coach Rich Beattie was in top form when he completed the Wild Strubel 50km race in Switzerland, which involved a climb of just under 10,000ft, in a time of 11.24:25 hours.

Three senior athletes travelled to Dumfries to take part in the West District Half Marathon Championships.

Elaine Boyle finished second female, Lesley Graham was fifth female, and Darran Muir eighth overall.

Several athletes competed in the St Andrew’s Hospice 6k around Strathclyde Loch, with Logan Whitton second and Ryan Kellock third in the boys’ race.

Under-17 runner Tehillah Okonkwo won silver in under-20 200m at the Welsh International in Cardiff, in a time of 25.38 seconds, and the 15-year-old has received selection to represent Scotland in the U20s match.

Fiona Steele won the V55 400m title at the British Masters Championships in Derby, with a time of 75.74secs.

Steele also took the 200m title at the Blackford Highland Games, in the Australia v Scotland event, achieving the Female Veteran of the Year title.
