Lauren Fitzpatrick says there is more to come from Tipperary

Tipperary captain Lauren Fitzpatrick says she is proud of the progress the county has made in ladies’ football over the years.

Now in her 11th season, Fitzpatrick’s performances between the sticks for Tipperary have grown alongside her team, who have more than held their own in senior football.

So far in 2025, Tipperary just missed out on promotion from Division Two behind Cork and Galway. Despite earning a draw against Kerry, they did not qualify for the Munster final.

For Fitzpatrick, there is more to come from Tipperary, who are in Group One with Galway and Donegal.

"I think for us as a group, it has been a mixed year. We finished third in Division Two, which on its own is a great result for us, being in such a tough group with the likes of Cork and Galway.

"If you look at it more in depth, we probably wouldn't have been happy with a lot of our performances in the league.

"When you look at the Munster Championship, we had the same inconsistency with games, probably a little bit unhappy with the performances against Waterford and Cork.

"I really do think nobody has seen the best of us yet. We are a very, very strong team, and I think there is a lot more to come from us. We just need to build consistency in our games.

"We are a very determined group, and we want to strive for more."

In recent seasons, Tipperary have demonstrated their ability to compete with the best at the senior level, but have yet to progress to the knockout stages.

In a competitive group and what looks set to be a very open championship, anything can happen.

The Tipperary goalkeeper says she would not be surprised if there is a shock winner come August, and she has confidence in what Tipperary can achieve this summer.
