Laura Woods and Ange become 'mates' as Tottenham boss and Arsenal diehard pose at Wimbledon but timeline set

Arsenal diehard Laura Woods put her North London rivalry to one side as she snapped a picture with Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou.

The former Celtic gaffer has been taking in some of sporting's biggest events this summer, taking a seat in a box to support the Aussies at the Ashes at Lord's as he prepares his Spurs side for a big season ahead. Postecoglou left the Scottish champions last month with the lure of the Premier League proving too much after securing a domestic Treble in his final season in Glasgow. The 57-year-old has been hard at work on the Hotspur Way but took some time out to enjoy the matches at Wimbledon yesterday.

And in the process he bumped in to former talkSPORT presenter Woods, who is a self-proclaimed diehard fan of the Gunners. She announced her departure as host from the popular morning breakfast show with Rangers legend Ally McCoist this month, with the Scot delivering a heartfelt tribute to her on air. And she couldn't help but to share a snap of her and Postecoglou looking the best of friends.

The caption on Instagram reads: "Big Ange! Mates until the season starts alright," with a laughing emoji and a handshake emoji." Postecoglou looks delighted as both don a lanyard to the private suite at SW19. Celtic fans will remember the Aussie's regular use of the word 'mate' in interviews as Woods shared his 'Big Ange' nickname that became popular in Glasgow.
