Laura Wolvaardt announced as new Proteas women's interim captain

Proteas women's top-order batter Laura Wolvaardt has been named as new interim captain of the national team for the duration of the upcoming tours against Pakistan and New Zealand.

The appointment comes after Sune Luus, who led the Proteas to a historic T20 World Cup final earlier this year, stepped down from the role of interim captain, as well as the unavailability of vice-captain Chloe Tryon, who has asked for a leave of absence for the Pakistan tour.
