LASUSTECH VC Tennis Cup ends in Lagos amid funfair

The 2024 edition of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) Vice Chancellor’s Cup will end today.

The two-day event sponsored by NEM Insurance, Sovereign Trust Insurance and Mutual Benefit Insurance started on Friday, December 6 inside the tennis section of the LASUSTECH Sports Centre in Ikorodu, Lagos.

This year’s event brought together tennis players from three other clubs for the inter-club competition including the FAAN Tennis Club, the Police College Tennis Club and Sky Tennis Club, all of Ikeja.

According to the Club Public Relations Officer, Engr. Chijioke Okafor, on Friday, was a day set aside for all participants to familiarise themselves with one another, while today is the real competition. The players will be competing for various prizes.

Okafor hinted that LASUSTECH Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Omotola Odusanya, is among top dignitaries expected to grace today’s final.

Club President, Alhaji Mojeed Sanni, had assured that today’s closing ceremony will be filled with funfair.

Over 250 tennis players will contest for various prizes in this year’s LASUSTECH Vice Chancellor’s Cup.

Captain of LASUSTECH Tennis Club, Mr. Gafar Tayo Oyewopo hinted that this year’s tournament would be better that all past editions.
