Las Vegas F1 track: What will the circuit look like?

Formula One will return to Las Vegas next year with the race set to take place on the famous Vegas strip.

It looks likely that the Las Vegas Grand Prix will take place in November next year and it will become the first race to be held on a Saturday.

After nearly three decades away from Vegas, the F1 officials have finally brought the race back to Nevada.

The track design is 3.8 miles long from start to finish with top speeds estimated to be 212 mph. In total, there will be 50 race laps.

Following the recent announcement, Stefano Domenicali, president and chief executive of Formula 1, said: “This is an incredible moment for Formula 1 that demonstrates the huge appeal and growth of our sport with a third race in the US.

“Las Vegas is a destination known around the world for its excitement, hospitality, thrills, and of course, the famous Strip.

“There is no better place for Formula 1 to race than in the global entertainment capital of the world and we cannot wait to be here next year.”

The official ESPN F1 Twitter account has also announced the layout ahead of the Grand Prix.

“The circuit will see cars race past Caesars Palace, the Bellagio fountains and Mandalay Bay, with the strip being used as a 2km straight.”
