Aston Villa are hoping to tie down Douglas Luiz after initial struggles over a new contract.

That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that the club has opened contract talks with the player.

Since signing from Manchester City in 2018 he has impressed at Villa Park, and the club are hopeful of striking an agreement.

This will come as welcome news to Villa supporters, as the club reportedly rejected three offers for the Brazilian in January. This new contract will help to finally put any transfer speculation to bed.
