Lanark ASC swimmers take medals haul from West District Championships
Lanark ASC swimmers took 11 medals from the West District Championships in East Kilbride.
Eleven swimmers from the club took part in the event at Dollan Aqua Centre.
Emily Taylor in the 11/12 years group won all four races in 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 200m backstroke, securing two qualifying and one consideration for the National Age Group Championships in April.
Evi Mackie, 15, won the 400m free, 1500m free, 50m butterfly and 200m individual medley.
Mackie won the two freestyle and butterfly races in Lanark club record times.
In the 16-year-old age group, Katie Towers was third in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, and was fifth in 200m IM.
Craig Shaw won silver in 100m breaststroke and was fourth in 200m breaststroke.
Luke Devlin finished fifth in both the breaststroke events.
Erin Purdon, Orlaith Jeffrey, Lucy Taylor and Blair Beverley all posted personal best times.
Coach Karen Kelly said: “There were some excellent swims from the squad, the stand-out being Evi’s 400m freestyle.
“A few swimmers have been nursing injuries and ailments, so overall they should be satisfied with their weekend’s work.”
